November 13, 2007 - Everyone needs to chill out now and then; here’s a way for people in the NY/NJ area to REALLY chill out and help CAF at the same time.
On March 8, 2008, get out your swimsuits and come on down to the Taylor Pavilion on Ocean Avenue between 5th & 6th Avenues in Belmar, NJ at 12:00 noon and be part of the “1st Annual Elks’ Miracle Plunge,” sponsored by the Special Chidren's Committee of the Southeast District, NJ State Elks Association. You can prove that polar bears aren’t the only ones that like a nice, cool dip in the ocean – and by getting people to sponsor you in your bracing aquatic adventure, you can raise funds to support CAF's valuable programs.
These proceeds from the Miracle Plunge will benefit CAF and Elks’ Camp Moore – and as an added incentive, there are special gifts available for those whose donations reach certain levels.
A reception will follow the Plunge at 1:00 at the Belmar Elks Lodge #1997 at 708 7th Avenue.
“This is a wonderful way for people to help CAF, while spreading information about thalassemia at the same time,” says CAF National Executive Director Gina Cioffi, Esq. “We are very grateful to the New Jersey Elks for naming CAF as one of the benefactors of the Miracle Plunge.”
You don’t have to be an Elk to participate in the plunge. All you have to be is someone who wants to help make a difference in the lives of people with thalassemia.
